Students Against War
A response to the article "With Major Protests Imminent, Military Recruiters Withdraw from UCSC Job Fair"
To Whomever this May Concern,
Today, Tuesday April 24th, anti-war activists celebrated their victory of stopping the military recruitment table from coming to the UC Santa Cruz Job Fair on the UC Santa Cruz campus. This year’s absence was the result of previous years, where members of Students Against War protested against the military and marine recruiters from coming to the job fair on campus.
I was overjoyed when reading your article on this subject. As a UC Santa Cruz student and an American resident, I was pleased to hear that my fellow UCSC students were actively and affectively protesting against War on campus. I feel that through preventing the recruiters from stepping on campus, students are sending out the national message that our generation will not stand for war. Our voices must be heard and from starting at this small protest on the UCSC campus we can soon inspire other students across the country to also speak up and out against War. This activism held by my fellow students just proves that our voices can make a difference to change our world for the better.
Thank You,
A proud UC Santa Cruz student
